On this week's Moshpit Spotlight, we interviewed Leza-Gee, an emerging musical artist from Kimberley, Northen Cape.



About Leza-Gee.
Lesley Danver Van Wyk better known by his pseudonym Leza-Gee, is a music artist and entrepreneur born and bred In the Northern Cape Kimberley (Ritchie).

2:How long have you been doing music?
In 2000 I moved to Johannesburg,Reiger Park that is where I did my primary school years and fell in love with music.Been doing music since 2005 ,around that time I was 14 years old,learning how to make music ,how to rap ,how to write lyrics and later on discovered that I can sing as well.
Me and my friends used to write songs Usher downloaded beats and perform the songs at a school function they used to call “American Day” where you put on nice home clothes and pay R2 for wearing home clothes and get a ice cream.

Came back to Kimberley late in the year 2005 after passing Grade 7. In 2006 I met my best friend,my brother ,my producer,beat maker and mentor Terrence Abel Hunt musically known as Ritchie’s Maniac.
That’s where he taught me everything about music ,how to rap,sing and write songs and I became the best in what I do ever since and we still doing music together till this day.

3:What inspired you to do music?
What inspired me to do music is poverty,
I grew up in a place/family where we never had anything ,no food ,no money and no clothes so not having anything motivated me ,pushed me to do music and pray and believe to the greatest and provide for my family and motivate others who also went through such.

4. When can fans expect a full project from you?
On the 3rd of February 2021 dropped a single titled You Lose, You Win. Then on the 3rd of May 2021 I dropped my second single titled Backbone and music video for Backbone will premiere before end of September 2021

Yes my fans can expect a 5 track Ep Titled “BACKBONE” dropping on all music platforms on 20 November 2021

Last year we published an article citing that T-Dngr.Boy was one artist to look out for ( read here ). Just over a year later he's proved to be one of the most consistent artists on the rise and this has scored him a nomination at this year's MAMAs under Best Hip Hop Artist category. B-Reigns Crowned Winner Of 'Expo-Sure' Season 1 Hosted By Eses Ent Earlier this year,  Eses Entertainment  introduced its latest initiative Expo-sure Season 1 which is a platform primarily made for performing artists situated in the provinces of North West and Northern Cape to demonstrate their abilities to a larger audience. The competition's season 1 finale was held on the 19th of February. The finalists were; Ammo Seetelo, B-Reigns, Buckz Moses, Pitso Letsopalista and Taydo.
