CasioRex Talks About His Recent Success, Transitioning From Being A Model, Dancer To Being A Full Time Rapper As Well As The Meaning Behind His Pseudonym 

1. Where did the name CasioRex come from?

- Casiorexide used to be my first name but I decided to change it 

Casio =A Brand

Rex(T-Rex Dinosaur)=Big

If you put it together its adds up to a "Big Brand" and that's what my aim is...If you hear Casiorex I want it to be more than just a name but rather a brand ,a company a sensation :Hair , clothes ,music , motivational words & inspiration through action and doing instead of speaking only...

2. That's big, I really like the concept behind your name 🔥 it's powerful. And from your history, you've done modelling and dancing before you pursued rap as a career. 

Do you think it played a part in the type of artist that you are today?

- Most definitely!

After Dancing for the Warriors (in my homeground Roodepan),We relocated to the kasi I went into photography did a course and got my Certificate after that I attend a Beauty Peagant (as one of the audience though) held by Bafana Tshabalala who was Mr Kimberley at that time and they ran short of models then they called me to just fill in for the one who couldn't make. Believe it or not I won First place as King and got two Merit Awards for Best Personally and First King...

After that I got a deal from a fashion line Black Widow & Dark Crow. From there I had a lil set back then started with beat production at Mayibuye from there music was my baby. I feel that all these things pushed me into that direction. 

3. Talk about being at the right place at the right time, you were born an entertainer bro! I remember seeing you in action for the first time in 2019, your dance moves blew me away. Fast forward 2022 your both rapping and killing the moves at the same time. How has your music journey been? Is it going the way you expected it to?

- Honestly at the beginning I really had it hard as hell bro. No stu , no producer , no support , no fans , nothing it felt like I lost everything and was in the wrong Career till Top Tee was kind to open his home Stu for me and I recorded my first track Jin Tsau Lee , damn that track mad people dawg.

I got alot of performances due the connections I had in Dancing , Drama & Modeling. I slowly grew a fan base bit by bit. Then I dropped CoolestCullidInYourHood I and my fanbase grew like wild fire.

2022!!!Ohhh this year is the year I'd describe as the Cream De la Cream.

This year alone I;

•Bagged a permanent Airplay on a Radio Station in the United States of America.

•Two Record Labels wanna sign me ;One in the UK and One in California but had to  decline.

•Bagged two Features from Piano Vega Records 

•Bagged a feature from a producer in the UK as well (Still Unreleased)

•I'm getting a whole lotta features too.

•And there's two more Major Things awaiting that i'd like to keep a surprise.

4. So what's next from CasioRex?

--Currently CoolestCullidInYourHood II Mixtape dropped only on Audiomack for Streaming (hit 500 streams in 2 days) currently more then 730 if I reach my goal then it drops on all platforms .After that we'll be setting off for another Amapiano hit named "Don't Run Away" by Casiorex , COMBO & YOU!...Then I'll be laying low for a very longgg time.

5. What are your music goals for 2022?

- I just want my Music to be reached by everyone and be seen for the quality is really is.

6. Do you think you are reaching your targets?

- Sometimes e.g Matenase Wa di Yobisi's goal was at least 1K if possible but look nou it's over 1.30K ,I also didn't expect the stats of CoolestCullidInYourHood II to be like that.

7. What is your motto?

- "You don't have to make it to class yourself as successful"

8. What are the requirements for any artist that wants to work with CasioRex?

They have to be;

•Good musicians

•Promoting and marketing their music actively 

•Have poper planning 

•Quality Production

•Passion

•Love for their craft
