Interview With Ryz053 On His Upcoming Album

Ryz053 is an extremely talented rapper, singer and songwriter hailing from Kimberley, Northern Cape. He recently announced the release of his first album, I had the opportunity to get the inside scope from the man himself. This is how our conversation went.




1. So Ryz my guy, how long have you been workin on this project?
I worked on the album for three months.

2. What drove you to work on the project?
I was tripping on mushrooms when I came up with the concept of the album. 4 of the songs in the album are tributes to a friend who committed suicide. A big theme of the album is dealing with grief and heartbreak. Much as I don't like to talk about my problems, I use music as an alternative way of expressing the way I feel.

3. What do you hope to achieve with this project?
I hope to spread my message to those who want/need to hear it.
That it's okay to feel sad sometimes and that you need to find
a healthy way of dealing with it instead of using alcohol and
other substances. I was in a really bad place when I started
working on this project and the things that helped me get out
of it were my friends and expressing my thoughts and feelings
through music. Music heals.

4. Any shout outs and final comments you would like to add regarding the album?
One of the people that helped me the most on this album was New Age Poet (N.A.P), who is a very good friend of mine, Kenny Murk also helped me out a lot. This is the first project that I'm engineering by myself and I feel like engineering is the strongest aspect to me as a musician. I produced 5 of the beats on the album.

Ryz053 has been previewing some jewels off the album, this most certainly is going to be a good one

Last year we published an article citing that T-Dngr.Boy was one artist to look out for ( read here ). B-Reigns Crowned Winner Of 'Expo-Sure' Season 1 Hosted By Eses Ent Earlier this year,  Eses Entertainment  introduced its latest initiative Expo-sure Season 1 which is a platform primarily made for performing artists situated in the provinces of North West and Northern Cape to demonstrate their abilities to a larger audience. The competition's season 1 finale was held on the 19th of February. The finalists were; Ammo Seetelo, B-Reigns, Buckz Moses, Pitso Letsopalista and Taydo.
