Review : LIFE IS WAR EP by TSIPAN THE BEST

Review : LIFE IS WAR EP by TSIPAN THE BEST.

Tsipan The Best compiles an EP (extended play) made up of 4 tracks and 3 guest appearances. The EP serves it's purpose within 13 minutes. The producer sets his time limit with precision as an EP generally runs for less than 25 minutes, while some acts let their EP's play for longer, Tsipan sticks to his sword and does things by the book.

But not all of us move the way Tsipan The Best moves, I on the other hand chose to go against the book and I judged the book by it's cover (artwork). In the woods, I see a silhouetted, sworded, & armoured Warrior with a bright blue outline, a clear opposite of the knight in shining armour Society depicts as supreme. The title, LIFE IS WAR is in big bold characters with noticeable ripping marks over it.

As the project plays, there's thematic coherence between the artwork & lyrics. Warriors serving cutthroat choruses and detailed verses that leave specific marks. Dark introspection from an enlightened space is served and everything encountered until the present point has played a vital part in the construction of the rhymes.
The Warrior is aware of their environment, noticing every flaw and gathering data on how the war will play out.

LIFE IS WAR EP is such a humane body of work, it isn't quite a perfection and requires much understanding & patience.
From "Everybody wanna be a GOAT these days, Everybody wanna be a GHOST these days" to "...this GHOST finna be a GOAT", subliminals served and subliminals caught in consecutive tracks but that will be swept under the carpet when an on-form Decking sweeps you off your feet with his storytelling.

LIFE IS WAR EP says a lot in a short timeframe, while making a simple point across 4 songs & 5 verses from 3 MCs. The point is FOCUS. Focus on yourself, focus on your fight, Focus on your vision, Focus on your movement. The project is moving with the times and doesn't have the punchlines that will find themself in the Hip-Hop Geek's handbook but serves a purpose, it makes the listener look forward to what the future holds from all of the project's contributors.

7/10 for a solid choice of Guest appearances & positive concept.
Tsipan The Best & CJ surround themselves with a crop of artists with talent and potential.
