As the year comes to a close and 2022 slated to be Bladzy's most anticipated yet, we speak with the rising star on developing her unique sound, her personal growth and more. Before you check out her catalog, learn everything about Queen Bladzy in new interview below.
1. What is the meaning behind the name Queen BLADZY?
There is a meaning behind the name BLADZY
It's a self made motto "Be Loving And Don't Zero Yourself"
In short Bladzy
I was named Cocky Jyc and I changed it to Bladzy 2016
Just because I thought it was unique.
2. Be Loving And Don't Zero Yourself, ahh that's quite catchy and hella unique. Talk to us about your early years, what were you like as a younger version of Queen BLADZY? Did it play a part in what you are today?
The younger Bladzy was honestly just so observant
I wanted to learn so I would pair myself with people with experience
And I would say I was kinda like baddie
Coz most of my songs have cussing words.
3. How long have you been creating music?
It has been a long time, since the age of 12, I'm 18 now and I feel old..
So it's been 7 years ❤
4.Wow, you're so young and already making a name for yourself, it's really inspiring! To your potential new listeners, what are 2-3 must-listen songs from your catalog?
I'll say my whole EP
There is a meaning behind the EP as a whole
So I think if they listen to it
They will get the message.
5.If you could describe your music in 2-3 words what would they be?
"Definitely unique"
I think my music is me
It says alot about me as a musician
And trust me, I'm not like other people
6.Who were some of your influences growing up? Musical influences?
Would be Nicki Minaj and Rapsody
RnB it's definitely Rihanna
7. Where is BLADZY from?
I'm from Kimberley
Born and bred in Kimberley
8.What is it like for a female doing music in Kimberley? Is music something that's accepted as a career path in Kimberley?
Definitely not, I think even me being female makes it even harder. People think doing music is childs play.
Thats why they never take females seriously
Apparently this is a "male dominated" Industry
It took time but I think I'm at the peek of proving people wrong
And show em why I say I'm Queen
9.Can you talk to us about your pen, your craft and abilities? Where did the abilities come from?
From being a kid I've been writing my music
It's just like an addiction
I have books full of verses I haven't even used. I get my writing abilities probably from listening to too much of Nicki but besides that I write from my heart and before I lace it, it has to hit hard.
10. Do you tend to write or freestyle?
Sometimes I write, sometimes I freestyle
11.Where can other creatives reach you for features?
On my official page and by emailing me
