Hip Hop enthusiasts that reside in Kimberley have been craving for strictly Hip Hop shows for a while. The drought was so real that even event organisers were selling residents pipe dreams, promoting their upcoming shows with the promise of playing Hip Hop, only to have other genres dominate the playlist.

P-Flo has always advocated for Hip Hop, using his pages to shine light on how creatives can register their music and actually get paid. This latest move from him resulted in me giving him total respect, I attended the first two shows with room for hella dissapointment cause "these niggas been fumbling." However, that room is gathering dust as he has been fulfilling his promise. The cherry on top is the Open Mic in between performances where MCees get to go off the top with random beats.

Last year we published an article citing that T-Dngr.Boy was one artist to look out for ( read here ). Just over a year later he's proved to be one of the most consistent artists on the rise and this has scored him a nomination at this year's MAMAs under Best Hip Hop Artist category. Song Review: Company by Flassouw

  One of Flassouw's great storytelling songs from her most recent EP, "Nothing To Something," is titled "Company." The album follows the female rapper's 'Teenage Life Patterns' effort by almost a year. This song features some of Flassouw's best lyrical work; her flow is flawless, and the phrases are delivered precisely and passionately. I was astounded by how she brought out Mvx053 to sing backing vocals over the hook. The structure of this song is truly amazing; it has a little bit of everything. This provided the song the well-balanced "Melodic Hook" + "Rap Verse" + "Melodic Hook" formula, which has consistently shown to be a "hit song" formula if the plot and vocal delivery are planned up appropriately.
