The Voice Of Beaconsfield

Tyrique Van der Byl, otherwise known as Stormi Wolf. He is a prolific rapper hailing from Beaconsfield, Kimberley, in the Northern Cape. He started off doing poetry at the age of 15 and has since evolved into the musician he is today. He hopes to popularize the sound of Beaconsfield and to spread love and positivity in his community. I recently had the opportunity to interview him to get his perspective on things.

1. Give me and the readers some background into your career in music.
"As far as my musical background, it stretches way back to the age of 12 when I was introduced to different genres of music. I started writing songs and doing poetry at the age of 15. I started improving thanks to my constant search for knowledge and my love for books sparked my creativity in music." He also adds that he had a troublesome childhood but he prefers not to divulge into that.

2. What is your inspiration and do you feel like what you're doing is making a difference in your community?
"My biggest inspiration is my fellow artist and brother, SB. But as far as music I am inspired by anyone who actually takes time in their craft and settles for nothing less than the best product." He feels that artists from Beaconsfield are always being slept on. "The only difference I'm trying to make is to show and not to prove anything. My sound spreads love but has a lot of contradictions and emotional content as I am from a place where nobody wants to see you make it."

3. Do you think you were born with this talent or is it something that has developed over time?
"I was born for this, without a doubt." He adds, "I lead a spiritual life and through revelations my musical ability will serve as a shoulder to cry on for the broken. I go into a state if disconnect when I write songs and it feels like I was born just to make music."

He has released a single on SoundCloud ealier this year. - Life of a don
