Toomuchweekend Unpacks His New Acting Venture With Us On The PitRadar

"Man these rappers are actors" smh, i should stop thinking out loud. So today's interview is with a well known rapper friend and associate of mine, he thinks he can act now (there I go letting my thoughts run wild again, screw me!!). I think you've spent enough time in my head now, let's head on over to the #PitRadar and get on with the order of the day!!

The Seven Seasons Music Group signee, Toomuchweekend, whose real name is Katlego Mpikwane is a producer, rapper, songwriter and now... actor?

The budding artist will make his acting debut as one of the lead actors on the upcoming theatrical show "Banele and Mbali" which will be showcased at the biggest stage in Northern Cape, thee Northern Cape Theatre. Let's have a chat with him with regards to this new venture

1. when did you consider acting?
I tried out improv acting in school but I got kicked out because I was a class clown. haha
Yea, I'm a cinephile at heart, I go crazy for beautiful scenes & acting.. things in films that a lot of people don't really pay attention to..
& I always knew I could act but didn't think I would take it serious til I saw the audition poster.

Holy fuck, Imagine from desiring to be an actor to actually scoring one of the lead roles on your first gig, it must certainly be fucken insane! How did it feel actually bagging the role?

it felt great but I didn't want to be too excited because I just knew there's a lot of pressure now, I have to go harder, take it to ten.
it also made me feel like I have heavy potential to be great but I'll only be great if I keep on taking it to ten & I finna take it to ten × ten. based.

2. How do you think acting will impact your rap career? which of the two owns your heart?

shit, uhm.. I think it'll have a positive impact on my rap career.. imagine being called Rapper/actor, that's crazy bro haha. but yea even though I'm playing a character, I'm really finding out some things about me, great things I never knew I possessed that helps grow, helps become a better me, which leads to better music & by the way.. the music I have in the vault is fucking craaaazy bro & I don't like giving myself props but my new shit is out of this world bro.

movies & music are two of my favorite things. but if I had to choose I'd say..
music.. because I'm playing a character that's me when I create music, & I because I'm scatter brained music helps me gather my thoughts & ideas.

3. Can you give us a spoiler alert to your character as Banele, what can we expect?

oh yeah.. Banele, he's a cool dude even though some might think he's an asshole.. but yea he drives his women crazy haha..
My fellow cast members & I are going to take you on an emotional rollercoaster bro,
we're so in sync when we're doing our scenes. I know this is my first time acting so what I'm about to say will sound a bit naive.. but the people I act with are amazing actors bruh & we got a dope ass director on our side.. a few people have seen the play.. & they describe it as innovative & beautifully written & directed.

The show is set to play over the course of two days, the 10th and 11th of June, the damage is a 100 bucks!
